LEZ phase two kicks in

Phase two of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is now under way.

Lorries, vans, coaches and buses over 3.5 tonnes GVW will now have to meet Euro III emission standards or face a daily charge of £200.

The first phase (applicable to vehicles over 12 tonnes) began on 4th February 2008 and aims to improve London's air quality. Vehicles must meet Euro III standard for particle matter to avoid the high charges... A simple way to do this is to chose a Zero Emission Vehicle!

Fleet operators could save £52,000 a year for every diesel vehicle they replace with a Modec Zero Emission Vehicle.
