Modec brings its zero emission vehicles to the Republic of Ireland

Modec, the world’s first purpose designed and built zero emission light commercial vehicle manufacturer is pleased to announce the appointment of the OHM Group as its exclusive distributor for the Republic of Ireland. The agreement with the OHM Group is the next step in the company’s expansion and sees Modec vehicles made available in Ireland for the first time.

Established in 1972, the OHM Group is one of Ireland's leading private businesses and is engaged in the distribution of internationally recognised motor vehicle brands and other industrial products. It operates from purpose built, state of the art facilities at six locations across Ireland, including Dublin, where the Modec demonstration vehicles will be based.

Modec vehicles save up to nine tonnes of CO2 per vehicle per year*. With over 110 vehicles already on the UK’s roads since the factory launched in March 2007, fleet operators in the UK are starting to make a huge difference to air quality, something the OHM Group is keen to offer to Irish customers.

Modec is continuing to see a rising interest in its zero emission vehicles and both private and public organisations in the UK have already introduced Modec vehicles into their fleets.

“The likes of Tesco.com and two of London’s councils have taken delivery of Modec vehicles and we are keen to ensure as many businesses as possible are aware of electric vehicle technology,” says Jamie Borwick, Modec. “Ireland’s adoption of Modec is a key step for the automotive industry and proves the future is heading towards zero emissions.”

The OHM Group distributorship, operating as Modec Ireland, is the eighth Modec distributorship outlet and joins six London dealer sites, along with Modec Netherlands based in Amsterdam.
