More Modec deliveries
Speedy Hire, the tool and equipment company, are now operating their first zero emission Modec vehicles. Speedy Hire purchased six tail-lift drop sides and one van for their London bases, complete with towbars and ladder gantries. All vehicles were designed specifically to meet Speedy Hire's precise specification. Speedy Hire has committed to making major changes to its fleet for 2008 and is working closely with Modec to achieve this. Discussions are already taking place for the next order of zero emission Modecs...
PODs, the innovative parcel delivery company, also joined the Modec revolution recently when it received its first two Modec box vans. The vehicles are based in Slough and will operate around Heathrow and in central London. PODs was the first courier to order Modec vehicles and is proud to be leading way in reducing its environmental impact, by adding such a green vehicle to its existing fleet.
Keep an eye open for the striking vehicles when you're in London: 100m sprint legend Linford Christie is the billboard model on the swift trucks!

Tesco vehicles arrive at their new London home
Modecs are now operating from Tesco.com stores in London. Having launched the zero emission fleet in May, as part of a pilot scheme in Shrewsbury, Tesco stores in London will also now deliver groceries in the revolutionary Modec. One of the zero emission vehicles will stay on the Welsh border, where drivers and Tesco customers have been particularly please with the vans. The first 14 Tesco Modecs to provide a zero emissions service for Tesco.com customers in London will be based at 2 stores - Bromley by Bow and New Malden.
The carbon neutral vehicles are quiet and pollution free and are perfectly suited to any urban environment. The Modec vans designed for Tesco are fitted with frozen, refrigerated and ambient compartments and have the same carrying capacity as a standard Tesco.com van. They cover a range over 100 miles before they need charging and are proving ideal for transporting goods around London in an environmental way, while meeting the exacting demands of Tesco's customers.
To order your groceries from Tesco go to www.tesco.com and maybe you'll see one of the first Tesco Modecs to operate in London.
Modec fly British flag at The European Road Transport Show 2007
Modec's presence in the international commercial vehicle world grows stronger by the month. The prestigious 2007 TERTS (the European equivalent of the Commercial Vehicle Show) held in Holland attracted global attention and Modec was heavily featured thanks to being one of the few vehicles available for ride & drive. Being the only UK manufacturer to attend also made Modec stand out.
Michael Mica, MD of Modec Netherlands said, "TERTS was the perfect occasion to announce the European expansion of Modec. The vehicle is perfect for Holland and constantly attracts an impressive amount of attention. High profile trials are ongoing and some exciting projects will be announced in 2008."

And finally... Modec joined the Lord Mayor's Show with The London Accord
Modec recently took part in the Lord Mayor's Show procession in collaboration with The London Accord. The zero emissions drop side vehicle certainly caught the eye of the enthusiastic crowds. An estimated 250,000 people lined the famous route and a further five million watched on TV. Out of 200 vehicles Modec produced fewer emissions than any other... including the horse drawn carriages!
