UPS Tests Innovative Zero-Emission Vehicle in the UK
UPS has begun to test our eco-friendly electric vehicle that will operate from its Camden facility within London’s Low Emission Zone. This quiet, carbon-neutral vehicle is the first of its kind to effectively harness the power of modern, high energy batteries to meet the medium range, high performance requirements of hard working, urban delivery vehicles.
UPS operates the largest private alternative fuel fleet in the entire transportation industry, which includes over 1,600 hybrid electric, hybrid hydraulic, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas and propane-powered vehicles globally.
UPS’s use of alternative fuel vehicles dates back to the 1930s with electric vehicles in New York City, and today the company uses alternative fuel vehicles in Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, the UK and the US.
